1879 CC fake or no fake

Hey coin people,im new to the hobby and collect Morgan dollars. I just won an 1879 CC dollar uncleaned and between fine and extra fine from Ebay last week. I wasnt aware of how many problems some of you seasoned proffesionals have run into with fake stuff. Please let me know if this coin looks fake to you,the guy seems honest but you never know. Thanks guys,I joined recently but now have some time to gain a lil knowledge from the forum. I collect morgans,which I have nice raw coins a few graded ones ms 63 and 64 in old green pcgs holders and a GSA from 1884 not graded still in the box with original card. I bought most of this stuff on Ebay but for my recent purchase of the 1879cc in ef? I didnt follow my rule of buying only graded PCGS coins from there. I hope its not fake,bent or cleaned.

Rule number one on eBay is, don't buy raw coins. Rule two is, learn to snipe. The way you bid is going to cost you money and you will lose the majority of the auctions you bid on.

The bidder I beat set his highest bid at around 200. I dont see many 1879 in this shape cheap. Ill stick with the slabbed Ebay purchases for next time. Thanx What about the PM sphinx?

Does the CC on that coin look funny to anybody else?? The second C in particular looks a little odd to me. Like an altered O with another C added to the front of it.

That coin in circulated condition is not often encountered as a fake. Most of the time, you have to watch out for cleaned coins. Gradewise it's a very fine, and I would lean toward it being unmolested.

For you guys throwing out greysheet figures, you won't touch a 79-CC for anything near greysheet. I paid $265 for a F15 about six months ago, and it was a battle.

The CC does look weird,I beleive has the broken cc die clash where the cc is. I wont know for sure until I get the coin,ill post my pics on the forum when I get it. Later
