2004 PROOF PLATINUM ST/LIB SALES VERY STRONG AT THE OUTSET - FIGURES FROM DIRECTOR OF US MINT

2004 Proofs (as of last week from the Director):
$100: 3444 (1115 single & 2329 4-coin set)
$50: 2839 (510 single & 2329 set)
$25: 3000 (671 single & 2329 set)
$10: 3965 (1636 single & 2329 set)
2003 Proofs (not final +/- returns etc.)
$100: 8423 (3024 single & 5399 4-coin set)
$50: 7269 (1870 single & 5399 set)
$25: 7155 (1756 single & 5399 set)
$10: 9681 (4282 single & 5399 set)
While the early orders for 2004 plat proofs (at the much higher price levels) were very strong IMHO, as usual, proof platinum "Eagle" mintages remain some of the very lowest mintages of any coins the US mint has produced since the 1930's.
