A market maker ??? or a market breaker ?????

Having just read his latest submission results (congratulations BTW), Are more people heralding the making of a pop 1 finest known, or are they now cursing their lesser quality FORMERLY finest known coins????????

How does this effect the value of these coins????

    I think half of the pop tops for 1960 to 1970 era proof and SMS coins at NGC are Marty scores.

    This is why I tend to shy away from "moderns"......... the market for pop tops is tenuous at best, relying that no more are made in an equal or better grade........

    When a pop top coin is made, does an email automatically go out to the top 10 registry participants in that series telling them to "ready their checkbooks"?

    If I understand the thinking correctly, it's all a BIG game. The idea is to buy raw, submit, wait, wait, wait, make a pop top, CHA-CHING.....

    Congratulations to Marty who obviously knows how to play !!! His astuteness is confirmed by the fact that I don't see his name listed as a registry participant in the modern series........

    Reminds me of a game I played as a kid...... "HOT POTATO" !!!!!!!!!!!

    Actually, I had a top Lincoln proof registry set in 2002 and sold it. As Russ says I am working on other sets, just not the standard stuff. As for making top pop coins, even classics are not safe, but moderns are a lot easier to make.
    It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!
