Oh yeah- it's worth about a quarter, I guess. Can't recall the foreign exchange rate, but if it spends as a quarter, it's worth a quarter.

Todays exchange rate was 1119 won to the dollar. I've got 3 nice shiny new 100 won coins in my pocket right now.

When I was a kid my parents took me to Brazil, which is where my Mom grew up. At the time, their monetary unit was called a Cruzero, and the exchange rate was 5,000 to 1. The thing is, they made a 10 Cruzero coin that had the same planchet as quarter. When I got home, I played a lot of Pacman for 1/5 cent a game!

Recently, I came upon a small stash of those coins that I never got around to spending. I tried them in a parking meter but they didn't work. Next I tried them in the washing machine in our building but they didn't work there either. Ah well - that's progress for you...
