eBay Dilemma

If you are one of those that does not eBay problem threads leave now. Everyone else:

I help a local coin dealer by imaging his coins and putting the auctions on eBay for him. He does the rest. He seems to have a stalker. Twice now for the same item a 0 feedback bidder has won and the bidder negged him without any contact at all. What would you do? Also as a potential bidder what would you think of his FEEDBACK?

  • Hi,
why wasn't he blocked after the first bad experience?

  • I would look at the buyers feedback and realize what is happening. Not everyone does this.
  • Hi again,

why do you even care what his feedback is? Just block him - you have nothing to worry about if you are a good seller.

    Best,
    Billy
  • Judging by his poor use of the English language this problem bidder reminds me of some known Chinese bidders I have seen hassling honest sellers in the past. Probably all the same person or a group of people working together. To what end?? Unknown. Maybe to make a few legit sellers look bad so their counterfeit coins will sell better?? Who knows how these people think.

Sorry - yes, you are obviously right. I am reminded of my own sig line below - tonight I am an "expert". My apologies to Bill - Ruler or Brittania!

My guess is this guy thinks he was screwed by your dealer friend in a previous transaction, and set up these IDs just to neg him. First thing to do is get the contact info for both IDs. See if they're the same. Then try to call the bidders. If it's a bogus phone number, then the negs can be removed. If contact info is legit (I doubt it), then he can try to work with Ebay and try to get his real account NARUed too.

I would have no problem bidding, based on that feedback. I would have a problem bidding on a raw 1916-D dime on ebay though.
