PCGS Plastic Coin Slab Boxes: What uses do you have for them besides storing slabs?

ms70ms70 Posts: 13,954 ✭✭✭✭✭

I spend most of my time at work on the road. I keep an equipment bag on my seat with a PCGS box in it. I store small items in it like a
pocket knife, nail clippers, and other small incidentals.

Anyone here have an innovative use for them other than what they were made for?

I use them for throwing at FooDude at coin shows...
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • I use one of mine for storing crayons.

I once used one to bury my favorite parakeet in. He now rests peacfully in his PCGS blue casket.

No fooling! I saw a blue PCGS box used (kept open) in an Atlantic City, NJ casino at one of the poker tables! The dealer used it to store his short rolls of quarters.

    I was stunned!

My kids love them to build tunnels and trestles for their model trail set. I have hundreds of them.

Yet another reason I need to be on the lookout at shows. Once marty forgot to take all the slabs out before throwing it. Unfortunately, the coins were some of those Cook island coins he likes to show offimage

  • If you have raw coins in the pcgs submittal flips, the box's are a great place to store them until you submit, they are the perfect width to hold them without rubbing together, I have also submitted coins to pcgs in the blue box's.
  • If anyone has extras that they don't need, I could use a few for actually storing slabs. Imagine that. PM me.
    thanks
    Pete
