PCGS "Regrade" results are in

I Submitted an XF40 Flowing Hair Dollar (2 leave variety) for a regrade, and it came back an XF45.

That's 2 for 2 "Regrades" in the past 4 months with the Early Dollars
that have up graded for me.

yep, there's tremendous "gradeflation" in several early US series, there was a thread about it a while back...

This was sent in the PCGS XF40 Holder, for a "regrade". Very rarely do I crack out Early Dollars. I just hunt for examples I think are undergraded, which are tough to come by.

If I owned these coins for years, I would agree with Baley, but I just bought this latest "upgrade candidate" 2 weeks ago. I received in the mail on Monday, off to PCGS on Tuesday, results back today. FYI the coin was in a "new holder" W/bar code on front when I resubmitted it as was the last Early Dollar I sent in for "regrade" last May. Went from XF45 to AU50

sorry, but certified grading on early coins truly is bordering on abysmal.... submit it next week, it may come back vf-30.
