The Mint is saving PCGS the trouble of putting fingerprints on coins

I bought this set "unopened" (which I believe is true) on eBay.

This 50c is still in the cello and came complete with a giant finger print

If you truly believe it's never been opened and you want to sell instead of returning it, PM me with a price.image

I have a 2004 mint set with what looks to be like a piece of a dorito chip in it. Guess they couldn't wait until lunch

How did you decide that it was a truly unopened set? image

  • I swear I've gotten fingerprinted coins out of original bank wrapped rolls.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit. Coins get dumped into the hopper of the counting machine at Brinks and from time to time the operator reaches in and stirs them around to make sure they don't get jammed up. You think the Brinks operator wears gloves for this?

By the way the same thing happens at the mint as well when an inspector reaches in and grabs a handful for inspection. These are just coins for circulation, he's not going to take any special care to keep from getting fingerprints on them.
