Sorry to disappoint ... but I'm back

Been in hiding for a couple of weeks ... all sorts of stuff going on.

One of the items was I was creating a new website www.CoinShowDates.com . It deals with coin show schedules and information and I want some feedback!

I know it is missing a lot of shows ... I've emailed lots of promoters and am preparing to send out a post card to about 200 more. It is also slow to load, A problem I am preparing to tackle.

Check it out and let's discuss improvements.

That site looks like it might be useful. I travel quite a lot, and am always trying to find shows in other parts of the country.

I also sent you information about our local show here in Albuquerque. It is the first weekend in October, the same dates that the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta opens. We will have about 750 Hot air balloons here, so the family can go there, and collectors can visit our show. We will have over 50 tables.

Nice job and Format. As someone with some graphic and website experience I only have a few comments. The CoinShowdates.com graphic is a little too pixalated and the buttons should use the same background color of the background they are in. I know it's nit picky but I can't help it.

This was my first project using MySQL and PHP ... as well as my first using any Java. I spent most of my time on just getting the thing to function and not worrying too much about appearance.

The color on the buttons > I tried to get it to match ... honest I did ... but the program I used to create the buttons just let me select the colors by moving some sliders instead of specifying a number.

The graphic images got resized several times from the original creations. I need to redo them all to improve the appearance as well as make the page load much faster.

There are LOTs and LOTs of missing shows ... There is simply a limit on how much time I can dedicate to this project. I have sent out about 300 emails to addresses that were listed as show contacts on various sites and in various publications. A very few have answered so far.

I have also pulled together about 200 postal addresses that don't seem to have email addresses associated with them. I plan on sending out a post card to these in the next week or so.

More suggestions always welcomed!
