There is a bit of cabinet wear on the Cathedral. I imagine most people would store this medal with the reverse showing.

  • Nice wins!!image That St. Michel et Gudule Cathedral medal is one I almost bid on. However, I decided to wait for one without wear on the rev.

Very nice, wouldn't mind having one alsoimage
  • What a great perspective in the larger of the medals. It must take a very skilled artist to do something like that. I remember seeing a Vatican medal with a similar view though a cathedral.

  • I usually see a cathedral medal come up on eBay about one a month. However, they're usually in poorer condition.

Syraq - While at the University majoring in Math and Computer Science I developed an interest in art history. I even did a stint as a Teachers Assistant for a class on European art from the Early Christian to Gothic period. Most of the class dealt with religious art and religious architecture. I have a great fondness for Romanesque and Gothic architecture as a result of this class.

The use of perspective the Wieners were able to employ on these medals is great to see in hand.
