PCGS WTC ms69 Silver Eagles... Are the prices up because of 9-11 ?

I noticed that the PCGS WTC Silver Eagles were selling between 140 and 160. is this because of the 9-11 anniversary?

I still cant understand the draw of people to buy these coins. Does anyone here own a graded one? I know that a bunch of you are against these coins.

  • I have a PCGS MS69 WTC that I gave $60.00 for. Don't ask me why - maybe I just
    wanted a reminder.

A sad day for us all.

I have one. I think I paid around $90 of it. I bought it becuase I wanted one. I'm not going to get into a discussion of "death coins". No one should have to defend why they buy something or not buy something.

Did I miss something here or does the seller have no clue as to what he's selling?

"It has been certified ICQ MS69 and sealed by Collector's Universe (PCGS). "
WTF???? Since when did PCGS provide any certification paperwork? ...and I thought I had too many drinks last night.

Maybe the coin was originally in a CU slab which is where the document originated, then crossed over to ICG?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
