Is it a real 52 Topps or a reprint?

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

I think the guy who bought it was a congressmen. He was selling an 01 auto set, said he had 5 of them at
one time, between him and I we probably have quite a few. I emailed him to see if he would sell me the
active 26 so I could have the whole 50 card set!

It would of been nice if that Mays was centered a bit more, but none the less thats an amazing card! I wonder
how many of the 25 were redeemed?

I have a nice 69 topps Brooks Robinson, but I haven't pulled any autoproofs from any packs yet....I would
of LOVED to pull the Mays, and if I had 1800 I would of loved to own that one, even though it probabaly went
for less. I would guess there are less than 15 of these in existance including the 1/1 from Topps Originals

  • Well if 25 of these were made I'm sure Topps is sitting on the non-redeemed ones; the cards are simply too valuble to destroy and Topps would probably to have them on hand to appease late redeemers (I mean, honestly, how p-o'd would you be if you couldn't get your hands on such a high-profile card because an arbitrary expiration date passed?). However, I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if several years down the road a few get packed out (a nice little plug for the 60th anniversary of Topps, perhaps? image )...

In the past topps has had STRICT policies towards expired redemptions. They usually site legal issues as an
explaination. Even though I think that sucks and have been screwed several cards including a TD/Ricky
williams co signers, policy is policy, but when I see these cards reaching the market later then I pick up the
    phone!

The real question is...was topps smart enough NOT to number these cards? If so they could save them for
later, but if they were numbered it would be very hard to release them later on without tipping themsleves
    off.

None the less I want one!
