  • I would almost do it as at $3.00 a coin it would be reasonable for a set of fakes to have as a reference.
    But what would I do with the rest of the coins? I only need one of each type.
    But that's probably a bad idea, since they don't have "copy" embedded in them anywhere.

    Well, theoretically they could have been produced before the hobby protection act. How long, though, until they are being sold as real?

    Less than one week. Or, sold as "well, I don't know anything about coins but these were in Aunt Nelly's sock drawer when she died," etc.

    I wonder if they made the date and mint I would want- 1873S. I hear a real one is as scarce as hen's teeth.

    Secret Service can't and won't do anything about it because they are not being sold from the U.S.

    Might try customs since theywould be illegal to import into the US.

    I hate to see this. So many fakes are being made in China. These are made from different dies than the others I've seen over the past year. These are better quality than before too. I was looking on ebay last week and most of the raw seated dollars are fakes! Some were being sold as coppies, some as real. Even one powerseller was selling fakes as real. Don't trust anyone on there.
