I got some really bad news today....a death of a friend.

Hey guys. I just had some awful news delivered to me. One of my good friends who I grew up in church with drowned a few days ago. He was looking for shark's teeth at the beach with his brother. That’s all I know right now. I have to make an emergency trip to Tampa for the visitation and the funeral is tomorrow. I really can't believe it. He was my same age (27) and this is the first time I have ever been to a funeral for a friend. He was a really good swimmer so please remember; we always have to be extra careful at the beach...this can happen to anyone. If you have kids PLEASE don't let them swim too far and even if you are a strong adult, the current can take you really quickly.

Keep his family in your thoughts for me...he has a younger brother who I am sure is having an awful time of this. This just brings home the fact that we are not guaranteed anything in life so try to live it to it's fullest and don't take things for granted.

I just though I'd share since you guys have been a really nice group for me to get to know this year....

Take care and be good to each other,
Wes

  • Liberator, I am sorry to hear of your loss. Last week, after the St. Louis show, I visited my hometown of Waynesville, MO to visit my Father. I had not been back nearly 18 years. As we were driving around, looking at the old sights, he informed me that one of my best childhood friends had recently passed...at the very young age of 36. We were very good friends and spent many summer days together in that little country town. He was a phenominal guitarist and at a young age was already playing in rock bands. He got hooked up with the wrong crownd and eventuall got into drugs. He died of a drug overdose. I wish that I could have done more to steer him down the right path and feel remorse. I hope that he is now in a better place, just like the friend that you lost too young. My prayers are with you and the family of your friend.

Everything that has been happening lately sure puts other unimportant things into prospective....

The loss of a loved one whether it be a friend or family member, even a pet, as I love my Tito as I do my Sons....

my youngest son is doing well, he is on probabtion and going thru a program, but he is working and getting his life back on track...

a few hours agao, my 19 year old got arrested for some dispute with his girlfriend, he had a previous background and may do some time in the adult jail....

and why he did what he did i don't know, I have given my children the world, I have given them love.........

my kids really didn't have any needs, as I met them all....

yet choices and decisions are made, and some of them carry a big penalty....

sorry to highjack this thread.... the Kitty is feeling alot of emotions right now, for my boys, myself, and all of you cats....

But I know there is One whom loves and comforts, as He allowed big spikes to hammer Him to a Roman Cross......
And He gave us a gift..... wrapped in blood, and He called it Eternal life......
