I read "Sid's" response, and it appears to me that he is not intimidated by Mr. Hagar. In fact, I interpreted the tone of response to be "bring it on, things are different up here in Canada". Interesting....

Interesting! AH finally admitted today that he and his company had one complaint back in 1984, despite his website's and published statements to the contrary for many years.

I guess he considers the ANA's 3/02 conclusions from the Charlotte hearing about ACG grading a compaint too minor to mention.

When will he and his wife stop suing complainers for defamation?

I enjoyed Barry Stuppler's two page expose in the July Numismatist. The facts were irrefutable.
Intimidation tactics will not force the numismatic community to comply with HAGAR. I am also happy that the ANA has started a legal defense fund to fight these frivolous lawsuits. In the end, the facts will speak for themselves and the true demonic evil will be revealed with greater light, as more publicity is focused on HAGAR.

wow. I have to wonder, assuming that this really is Alan Hagar replying to the Canadian coin forum thread, doesn't it cause a problem for Alan Hagar's lawyers for him to reply in the forum in the first place?

ACG this ACG that. Hager does this Hager does that. Man seeing this stuff constantly is really boring.

Personally I think the effect has taken hold and both dealers and collectors are well aware of the short comings of the product.

Heck are they still even in business ? Certainly a reminder, about every 6 months is in order, but every time he steps up to the pot to take a piss a reminder is not necessary.

JAHO from a person that is sick and tired of hearing about ACG and the Hagers.

So tell me, what made you look at this thread then? If you are so tired of hearing about Hager, why did you even look at it?

I do agree with this. The word definitely is out about ACG. A LOT fewer ACG coins are in eivdeicne at shows and on Ebay than there used to be.

I do think that bringing the subject up on a regular basis, and taking stands, have had a lot to do with that.

It's probably not a bad thing that the head of the ANA now is an attorney.

Some of us, like myself, enjoy getting more information about the world of acg and lawsuits. If you have no interest, then don't open the thread! BTW, thanks Eric, for posting this link......

Obviously when a couple of Old Grumpy Collectors disagree on something a little fire will start. As I said a friendly reminder certainly is very useful and needed. My attitude is not "Who Cares". The efforts that were made on this subject, ACG, were very much needed for the hobby.

Wow I did not know that I am a controversial poster. image A little grumpy sometimes but controversial ?

Eric just another quick thought. I;m not completely sure but I do think you received some money from me when you were soliciting for funds. I guess that was put right into the "Who Cares Fund". Correct ?.....imageimage

Yep...sure enough on April 9 you got it. Not a bunch but it was some.

It's almost hard to believe what they're saying on that european forum. I didn't write down the address though darn it and can't post the link. Eurocoinnet or something like that. Jeesh are they ever outspoken.

A quick search on ebay shows 73 U.S. Coins brave enough to have "ACG" in the title, most of which are being "sold" (although there are no bidders) by Alan Hager; the independent businessman who no longer has any interest in Accugrade since 1999image

Many sellers don't include it in the title but bury it in the description. I wonder why?

    Ken,

I on behalf of all named defendants appreciate all donations made to the fund, whether it is $5 or $500. That being said, contributions do not shield you from my honest opinion when you make a boneheaded comment. You said:

ACG this ACG that. Hager does this Hager does that. Man seeing this stuff constantly is really boring.
JAHO from a person that is sick and tired of hearing about ACG and the Hagers.

Interesting. This was the first remark from me on the situation for several weeks. As I initially remarked, if you were so bored with it, then why did you even open the thread when it was plainly marked as such?

This was a notable event, since it is the first time in several years that Hager has dared to open his mouth on a public forum. I'm sorry if you are bored with it. I suggest you do what I do when I see subjects I'm not interested in hearing about, I skip them. I don't pop into the thread and say I'm tired of hearing about them.

To characterize myself as a "Who Cares" person was just quite quick with the trigger dont you think? Saying my statement was a Bonehead statement could have been handled easily but "Who Cares" was not. Probably if this thread title would have had a title that pertained more to his first public reaction in years my mouth would have been kept shut.

BTW has there been any mention in this thread that this was the first time in years that he has spoken on a forum ? If so I missed it. If not why did you not state this here untill last night when you responded ?

Last but not least. Please show me where I just popped in and said "Who Cares". I plain cannot find this in this thread. Remember Eric not only you have the right to state a true opinion.

With the above said this issue is Ancient History.....image
