Large Cent....

What do you all think of this one?
Cleaned?

  • Interesting. The redness of the coin is the only thing I would be cautious about. It is sometimes hard to detect whether a coin has been recolored or not. If it grades, it should be around MS64/65RB or perhaps even RD.

Thats a nice coin. I love the design on those. Looks funny though. Maybe cleaned and retoned?

Hard to tell from these pictures - my inclination, however, is to say that it is original color.

If it is cleaned / recolored, the person responsible did a convincing job.

I'm not a copper expert, but it looks good to me.

    keeper.

some of the copper guys are too good, you wouldn't be able to tell it was recolored, but that coin looks outstanding, doesn't matter if it was recolored or not.

The red in the devices suggests the coin is okay.

  • I think it looks a little too pink in the protected areas a sign of cleaning and then recolored. Very nice probably a 63, looks like a bit of rub on the lowercurl by the neck and near the top at LI. Still a great looking coin.
