RESULTS - The four losers were all pretty close, but the winner, Rhode Island had about 2:1 vs. the competition.
Going to do several polls to pick the best state quarter design from the first five years. In five or so years, will do another poll for the second batch of 25 and then have the final elimination for the -BEST- state quarter design.
Five polls, one for each year and then the top five from each year will be in the semi-final poll. The design that gets the least votes from all the polls will get the honors of being -THE DOG-

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Conversely, RI is one of the best -- beautiful design, strongly evocative of the state -- and gets my vote.
Funny thing is, both NY and RI were designed by the same guy, forum regular dcarr.
It's probably because I have a soft spot for trees.

I can only guess that VT appeals to me because of the nature look to it. It's like looking at a picture of an interesting land scape.
