I spoke with the ANA convention coordinator and I now have a firm date and time for the inaugural Toned Coin Collectors Society meeting:
It's on Thursday, Aug 19, 2004 at 11:30 am - the location is: Room 323 David Lawrence Convention Center
This date, time and location will be in the ANA guide that's distributed at the Convention
PM me if you can make the 1st meeting - we'll try and have some food and drinks if the number attending warrant ordering food.
Also, here's a link for a Membership Application:

<< <i>I understand that the meeting room will be chemically sanitized of any sulphurous compounds, etc. lingering in the air after this meeting >>
Don't forget the dress code: NO loud, hawiian shirts.

You don't want John Schuch to attend our 1st meeting?

If the choice is between him going shirtless or wearing one of his famous loud shirts, please, allow me to recind the dress code.

If you're planning on going to the ANA in Pittsburgh AND you plan to attend our inaugural 1st meeting please PM me so I'll have a rough idea of how much food & drinks to order (the meeting will be over the noon hour and I wouldn't want anyone to drop their toners due to starvation) -

You might even convince PCGS and NGC to reslab the coins with inserts noting the awards.
Doggedly collecting coins of the Central American Republic.

That is a GREAT idea. I hope they run with it. I'd love to see the best of the best in the toned category and I'm sure NGC at least would have enough foresight to move on it.
I can quit collecting anytime I want to.....I just don't want to!
I have to finally agree with you on something!
I am confident there will be a show and tell so picking a winner from my A box should be easy.

You're gonna have to hope that GSAGuy doesn't come with HIS "A" box - Besides, I'll be the Judge and I will happily accept colorful coins to influence my decision as to the "winner(s)"
NOTE: will someone round up a display case to bring to the meeting? (need a dealer who'll have an extra empty case) I don't think anyone is going to want to pass our "eye candy" around - I'll try to put together an "entry" form as we don't want any "shills" showing up at the last minute and entering someone else's coin -
Do we need categories? (By series: Morgans, etc, or by denomination?) give me a little input and I'll put something together for "Show-off and Tell"

You'll have no choice unless it's going to be a "one-side only" competition.

Some of the best Toned Morgans that I have are toned on one side only
