NTC graded quarter

Can someone shade some light on why this quarter has no bids?
The PCGS price guide has it at $7000.
1932-D WASHINGTON QUARTER
I know that the NTC grading company is one of the worst, but this coins pictures look darn good to me.
And I would think this coin would be at least an MS60 with PCGS.
Thanks for the help...

First problem is that coin appears to me to be AU. Second problem is the area of the mintmark looks suspicious.
NTC has zero credibility in the numismatic community, and especially on key date authenticity., or lack thereof. The auction should be treated as a raw coin.

Does someone have a recommendation for a good book on washington quarters.
A coin as valuable as a 32-D would always be sent to one of the top tiered companies.
The fact that is wasnt, is a giant red flag that the owner knows or suspects something is amis.
If you want to be up to a quarter for it , you cant be hurt.

Another thing that doesn't give me confidence is the fact that both the seller and the "grading service" (I use the term loosely) are in Boca Raton, FL.
I've never seen a Washington (whether or not it is a 32D) with that kind of interesting dimple around a Denver mint mark. I wouldn't trust the coin.
And the "D"...that looks funny, too.

Strange coin and harsh terms for a seller with good feedback and:

He seems to looooooooooooooooooooooooooooove NTC coins, based on his past sales.
I have only purchased one NTC coin, at a Clearwater, Florida show a year ago. It was a 1926-S Standing Liberty Quarter which was graded MS 64. I bought the coin because it had a 95% FH, and it was priced as the AU 58 coin it was. At least the dealer who sold me the coin knew what the coin was, and priced the coin correctly. It resides in my raw Dansco album now.

Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !

For key dates like this one -- which should be authenticated -- it's gotta be in PCGS, NGC or ANACS plastic. Otherwise, as others have said, for the purposes of authenticity, I treat it as if it were raw.
The depression at the D mintmark is a pretty much a sign that the coin is indeed genuine. Several 32-d and s quarters have this.
As far as the grade, I see definite wear on the high points. A coin that has a clean surfaces, with minimal contact marks but an AU-55 maybe 58 at best.

Thank you all for the help. Maybe someone could tell me what the "high points" are on the washington quarter.(what parts wear first)
And other things that would make a quarter go from MS to an AU. I appreciate all this help.

This is a $400 coin. The buyer just got a royal screwing, thanks to the seller and NTC.
HERE
Or did the guy just make the coin look good with the photo?

Where on the coin does it have wear/scratches etc. that would not make the mint state (other than the possible mintmark problem)
I would realy like to know, as I am new to collecting.
It's a very attractive AU-55 coin. Sure is not worth $1200, however. There would be a lot more buyers on eBay if they were not chased away from our hobby by trashy sellers like the subject of this thread. When the seller finds out that his "steal of the century" is only worth $350, he will probably start collecting sea shells or Beanie Babies. NTC is pathetic.
The good news is that the coin is genuine, imo.

Whenever I do my NGC searches on Ebay, alot of NTC garbage also comes up, and I think newbies get confused and think its NGC. I know that these turd sellers are doing something to have their NTC crap come up in NGC searches. Its pathetic.

i'd grade it ms-61, but the mintmark looks perfectly genuine to me.
