Look at this picture:
Look in the upper right hand corner of the obverse around 1 o'clock. do you see a face? Is that supposed to be there? This is a 1C pattern posted at the PATTERN COINS web site.

looks like a bubbly little babe with fat cheeks and tiny horns....heh
there's also a shroud image of grant on the entire lower 2/3 of the eagle's left wing. you can see his
eye's, nose,curly hair,part of his hat and his left side of a curled up handlebar mustache...
the center of the tip of the handlebar mustache is lined up the left side of the 8 and horizontal with the
eagle's eye. slide back and focus,when you get the mustache the you can see the beard,eyes,hair and hat
