I have been trying to figure out how to take pictures of my coins. I need to buy some lighting, this was taken on my kitchen counter on a cloudy day. I am using a Canon Power Shot A70. Any suggestions welcome. I hope this works!

A good first effort. A few ideas:

    1. Add more lighting at different angles
    2. Crop the areas that aren't related to the coin
    3. Adjust the angle of the camera to avoid the camera reflection on the coin

Still, a very good first pic

Great First Shot. I'd PM DarkHorse he has a PowerShot and takes great images with it. I am sure he's got some great pointers for you.
