My favorite is the first column second row. I really like that eagle!

My favorite is the second row, far right coin.

Where might I find Morgan patterns? I might be interested in picking one up. I assume that they are quite costly, what should I expect?

Very very nice. Beautiful coins and the patterns are collected by very few people, giving the set that extra "ultra cool factor".

If showing off a set like that couldn't get you in bed with a lady then nothing will! image

Dennis- Pretty good guess. In gem proof the copper pieces run around 20-30k and the silver pieces 30-40k.

Andy- I don't suppose you could help me fill in the blanks?image

The eagle in question, looks very much like the eagle

on the reverse of the Lincoln Commem Half Dollar.

By the way, a magnificent set of experimental design Half Dollars.

Third coin, third row. That one could put your eye out!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Morgan patterns come in dimes (nice ones generally around $10k to $15k), quarters (generally is the $20s), halves (prices as Boiler noted) and dollars (anywhere from about $8k to $20k). Morgan also designed the Schoolgirl Dollar and Shield Earring quarter, half and dollar.

KK- That coin, J1523 is also my favorite of the copper coins in the collection. It is graded PCGS pr 67 bn and is the finest of 4 known (ex. Bass). The coin is one of the prettiest brown coins I have ever seen with toning ranging from navy blue to turquoise depending on the angle to a light source. I am glad you like it.image

I'd be a lot more impressed with this collection if it was in the registry. Until then I don't know how it stacks up against competitors.

    P.S. : image

P.P.S.: Gad, what an impressive photo!

P.P.P.S.: The right hand coin in the second row is obviously the prettiest! What a fantastic eagle!!
