It's not November but I'm giving thanks anyway - GIVEAWAY WINNERS in first post

I have really enjoyed my time among the denizens of the Darkside. No, I'm not going anywhere. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone by doing my first giveaway. Why?

Well ... does someone really need a reason? But seriously, I've learned a lot around here. Sometimes I've learned things about coins I could care less about and sometimes I have picked up on invaluable information. There are some very nice and helpful people here on the boards (and more than a few jerks on the lightside). I've bought from several people here on the Darkside as well as quite a few on the Lightside forums and always been very satisfied with the purchases. Anyway - Thanks!

OK, here it is:

This giveaway consists of 6 prizes, some darkside, some lightside and one somewhere in between! It's open to everyone here on the PCGS coin forums.

1. Two US coins
1937 Buffalo nickel
1926-S Standing Liberty quarter

2. A 1900-O Barber half dollar

3. 1966 Bahama $2 - nice toning on one side

4. 1964 Kennedy half dollar UNC

5. 1907 Philippines 1 Peso KM-172

6. An assortment of Mexican pieces
1984 20 pesos KM-486
1984 100 pesos KM-493
1983 50 centavos KM-492
1889 1 centavo KM-391.6
1915 10 centavos Revolution piece Atlixtac Gro. KM-645

How do you add one of these prizes to your collection? Well, just reply to this thread prior to 12:01am (eastern time) on Monday, July 19th stating your desire to win one AND state which of the 6 you would like!

Now we get to see what is popular around here. image

Photos will follow in the next day or so.

Monday, July 19th

OK OK OK ... I lied ... I took the photos but never got them posted ... I'm a bad person.

Totaling up the entries for each giveaway item, it looks like this place has been invaded by lightsiders!!!!
The first two items were the top drawing items by far. It seems we have them hooked but we still need to get them to break their old habits.

Meanwhile ... the list of winners by item number

1. Ibzman350
2. Laserart
3. Phut
4. drjules
5. trozau
6. Satootoko

Winners, please contact me via private message with your addresses!

  • Please enter me in the giveaway. I don't really have a preferance though, any one of those prizes would fit very nicely into my meagre collection. If I really have to pick one though I will go for the 1964 Kennedy.

    Many thanks for the offer

Please enter me in your contest.

Hard to choose between #1 and #2. First choice would be #2 the barber half, after that it would be #1 with the standing liberty. image

Although I spend a majority of my time here on the Darkside, I still collect US as well, and would choose #2 in a heartbeat! That would be my first Barber coin after all these years!!

    Thanks for the chance!

Not only does it fill a hole in my 1-per collection, but this part of Jim's giveaway is a history lesson in copper!image

    imageimage

KM#645, a 28mm 1 year type, 10 centavos, struck at the Atlixtac Mint, one of seven in the State of Guerrero, on the southwestern coast of Mexico, operated by authority of the legendary Revolutionary General Emiliano Zapata. The degree of wear clearly shows that it facilitated many, many transactions in that war-torn area - maybe even passing through Zapata's own hands.

Make that a double thank you kind sir! (BTW, the rest of the package was very nice as well.)
