A question about what you use to obtain information about coins

How many of you use:

PCGSs' pricing guide

PCGSs' and NGCs' Population Reports (online or print)

Other online pricing guides or informational references

Me too. But I like to use Numismatic news a lot, and I find stuff from people on here.

You forgot to mention recent eBay sales; although, on moderns I use the less than 50% of the PCGS price guide rule.

    Heritage's Archives - oh yeah!

    Teletrade's Archives - no

Numismedia's Pricing Guide (print or on line) - no

There are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who do not.

  • I do use TeleTrade, Heritage and eBay auction archives. I also will look at pop reports and other dealer's web sites.

I am assume you are asking about pricing information...

  • Heritage's Archives - for cert numbers and pics, not prices
Teletrade's Archives - often, especially varieties
Numismedia's Pricing Guide (print or on line) - for raw items
    PCGSs' pricing guide - never
PCGSs' and NGCs' Population Reports (online or print) - always

Other online pricing guides or informational references
    - ebay auctions for recent items and specific sellers for 60 day results
    - red book for some types of raw not in Numismedia Price Guide
    - personal price guide that I frequently update
