These are pretty darn close to what the coins actually look like...





Although I am still having problems with real shiny business strikes, I either get dark areas or washed out areas....




How do you get decent images of real shiny business strikes??

I usually have one or two lights on the side of the coin, more pointing down than angled to look at the coin dead-on... works for me...

I deal with shiny business strikes by getting the light as high to the coin as possibly, That will soften the shadows and light up the relief nicely. I generally also try to keep the light coming in from one side (I prefer above) so that all those shadows are not completely removed. Light from too many angles makes lettering and dates less distinct.
