  • Jonesy,

Did you buy that one? Looks good. A few ticks, are they on the coin or the holder?

    You Suck!!!

Very nice coin!!! Are you trying to get it in a PCGS holder???

  • No, I didn't buy it. I just have never seen any of the MS67 54P's up for auction os sale before!! I have two PQ 54P's in 66. Made one of them myself from a roll from Ebay!! image

IMHO,you haven't seen one now either that isn't a true MS67.The rounded lapels and the ticks on the shoulder and forehead should've prevented a MS67 grade.

  • I agree with Don. I didn't want to be too critical if you had actually bought the coin. It's not a 67. I'd guess that the 2 nice 66's you have may be nicer.

Looks more like a solid 65.

That coin is in a top NGC set now. It finished of the collectors set from 1932 to 1958 in NGC 67RD. I got to see highlights from his set. MAN... what a set!

Now I look closer, it also seems that the shoulder is a mix of dirty dies and a weak strike....

  • It may just be the pics, but I agree that it's not a 67. I have a PCGS '54 in MS65 (PQ, IMHO) that looks as good as this one. Mine has none of the contact marks that others have pointed out here. Also, my 65 doesn't have the ticks on the O in ONE. My guess is that this one is really a 66, and perhaps not a strong example of a 66.

In my opinion, that won;t cross into a PCGS 67 holder, it just doesn't have the 67 'look'

Here's the 54-P that's in my set. Yes, it IS in my registry.

It's the finest 54-P cent I've ever seen. I will say that the NGC 67RD that I sold a while back had a nicer obv, though.

I too believe that 1954 is indeed a MS67.You were robbed.
