I'm curious. Is there some reason you don't respond to eMail when a bidder inquires about an eBay listing? Even when that bidder eMails twice while the listing is running?

    Russ, NCNE
  • I do a pretty good job at relpying to emails concerning eBay auctions, or any emails for that matter. There are 3 times a year, when I am attending the Long Beach Coin Show, which during those times I am away from the pc. Last week was one of those times. We also list a phone number...maybe try that if you find that email is not working for you, but I see that you like to type with your twenty-something thousands posts. Oh, and thanks for welcoming me to the boards.

This auction started May 24th, well before Long Beach.

I eMailed you twice asking for a reverse image. You ignored both. That doesn't seem like a "pretty good job" of replying.

<< <i>but I see that you like to type with your twenty-something thousands posts. >>

And that is relevant to your unwillingness to respond to customer inquiries because?

  • You are just in the mood to argue. All I wanted to do was list a nice registry quality coin on the boards. Your actions are probably better left for a phone call since I do such a terrible job with replying to emails. A lot of the board members know us at Covina Coin, and they know that eBay is less than a quarter of one percent of our buisness. Not all of the time am I around the pc to answer questions about our items, or take a second and a third photo of the items. Recently, I have been listing items with no pictures at all. (this is to save some time, although I am aware that I may lose out on a bid or two) In some cases it is not profitable to stop what I am doing, pull the coin, scan/photo the coin, and email it over. I am on salary to do different things around here. My quote about your posts is relevant because you could have called the office. Perhaps I was out sick, on a delivery, or maybe just up front in the retail dept. Like I said, I do a pretty good job in replying, not 100%, but not horribly. Hey, I am doing a good job on these boards so far eh? Thanks Russ, and have a good night !

Sounds like a killer coin! If I was still working on a Mint State Registry I'd be all over that one. Tough date even in Superb GEM MS67.
Welcome! I hope you stick around and share your knowledge along with your offerings.
  • Thanks to everybody who welcomed us, especailly Mark for watchin' my back! Holla!

  • Hi C. Is my memory faulty, or is Covina Coin somehow associated with Leroy Lenhart?

I'm guessing no one other than big, bad, Leroy Brown will be posting under this name?

Your reputation precedes you here and it's almost all good.

    clad:
leroy lenhart is my father, but unfortuantley he's not too pimp on this internet stuff, so i'll be the one handling all of the postings. as some of you know, we own and operate a family biz. lee has been a coin dealer for over 40 years. in the '60's he owned a small coin shop in west covina, ca called "west covina coin exchange." then from '72-'82 he worked out in the san fernando valley at american coin company. after the market crashed in '82 and '83, he took a couple of years off, but got back in the biz in '85. later that year, he married tracy, my step-mom of almost 19 yrs. now! anyways, when pcgs started in '86 (he is one of the original members that signed the first day) he turned his attention to slabbing. for the next 6 yrs. he and tracy traveled some 40 weeks out of the year, hitting every major convention. life was good, but once again the mkt. turned sour in the early '90's and that's when he decided the hell with mail order and coin shows, and decided to open up this retail shop in covina...and that's where we get covina coin & jewelry! most of our biz today deals with the mkt'ers that sell on cable television. i'm here to help with ebay, manage our buy ads, and pound this modern mkt. hope that gives ya'll an idea of who we are. thanks, dave lenhart image
