Is Griffey Back?

He starting to look like his old self. Swings looks better, must be seeing the ball well. Hopefully he can make it through this year injury free. He was exciting in his day and one of the few class acts. He was great for the game and the hobby. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Shhhhhh... He's on my fantasy team... I don't wanna wake him up!

Seriously, I hope so... if he gets the HRs in gear, it'll be a welcome distraction from SourPuss Barry!

Yeah, help out my 89 UD cards that I've been sitting on for 4 years. All those PSA 8,9 and my 10. I need to get some money back out of those things. 500HR here we come!

He'll go down this season. Fragile ankle, shoulder and hamstring.

It would be great if he is back, and can stay healthy at least past the AS break. He has always been one of the true "good guys" in the game.

Here's a follow up - if he stays healthy this year, which will help increase his worth - where do you predict he might be playing next season?

The Yankees are not going to get Griffey, nor do they even want to. They have Bernie Williams and Kenny Lofton, so they are fine.

Griffey has been making some strides and I think everyone wants to see him do well and are pulling for him. He is the player that was popular during the 90's and everyone remembers how hot his cards were. Griffey is a likeable player whether you want to unload your 1989 Upper Deck or just appreciate one of the best players of this generation.

Remember when guys played day in and day out. Mickey Mantle and Joe Namath didn't even have knees. I hope Griffey keeps it together, but every minute is a challenge. He could flush the toilet and sprain his wrist. Was Sosa the one that sneezed his way on the DL? Can you imagine Otis Sistrunk telling Coach Madden he needed some time off because of a sneeze? Thank god for hockey players. Guys last 20 years in hockey getting every bone in their face and body demolished. They watch their own blood gush out of their eyes and shake it off. Plus, the amateur dentistry being practiced with hockey sticks isn't for the feint of heart. I can't watch the sport, but I sure as heck respect those guys. Those are men.

  • Been watching the Kid play since he was a zygote playing for the SB Spirit.Die hard reds fan from the Big Red Machine years.Elated once he became a Red.Started collectig Hi-end graded cards. The day I received his SB Spirit BGS 9.5 1/4 was the same day he got hurt for the first time.Bummed?!?Not so much. Was able to pick up cards not possible for way less money.Have a few more to get so let's not tip off the GQ public just yet.
Of coarse, hitting behind Casey is main reason why he's able to start hitting HRs.They Sean walk him to get to Griffey????What's this world coming too?He sees better pitches when surrounded by a healthy Reds lineup plus they rather challenge and take their chances with a less than 100% Jr.Beleive he's a little tentative still.
Another injury may see him play in the American League.Yankees???UH,are you familiar with that background?Griff claimed he'd NEVER play for Steinbrenner.Goes way back when his dad played there. But Hell has been known to freeze over. After all The Eagles got back together so it must be true!
As far as injuries,I worry more about a pulled eyelash.
