Will I be happy, or would you be happy

It looked like fun for MS, so I will give it a try. I have not looked at the results. I dropped this group off at Fort Washington. I will get these commons back before the "mechanical error" that I gave them at the same show. I have another invoice for 1962 that I dropped off at the same time that I have not heard about yet.

# 4184299

Zip 85211

I could not start a poll, I do not know why. I figure that it is both ways, do you think I will be happy and would you be happy may not be much different, but then again who knows, until now.

  • Marty,
    If you haven't looked yet ........ don't.
I think your best bet is to hope they get lost and collect the insurance money.

    NO!

    Marty,

Nice talking with you at the Fort Show. I hope you did ok that weekend otherwise I would bet that your submission to Psa
at the Fort can be considered another minus from that May show!

    Sorry, but t'aint pretty.

  • See, you people all thought it was just me, didn't you? C'mon, admit it.

I believe the new rule to go by is that if a vintage card doesn't have at minimum two blazing absolute mint corners, and the other two are very close to blazing mint, the card won't 8. I'll bet a lot of these cards have 3 or 4 NM-MT corners, which in my book, pretty much defines NM-MT as long as there's nothing else majorly wrong with a well-centered card. But if you want a card to get an 8, it had better be almost a 9. And that's the way it is.

    Marty-
If you don't have that much into them you'll do OK, but they aren't worth bringing to a show. Mostly good stuff to blow out on ebay.
And what is up with that last card? Is that Murcerfan's dad?

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Maybe it is just me, but I would take those grades. It seems that everything has to be 9 or 10 to achieve card nirvana.

Its hard to state if you will be happy, we never saw these cards beforehand and have no pre-conceived notions of what they will grade. Theres a lot of nice cards listed and as 1420 stated, theres a market out there for the non mint cards. I've seen worse submissions...jay
  • I am so sorry Marty. You have my sympathies.

I am with 1420, Id be happy especially if I had next to nothing in those cards (which you prolly have) I bet you didnt expect 9 and 10 anyway so I would feel that you will be happy.
    Good for you.
  • YUCK. Sorry man.
  • Darth Grader strikes again. BIG TIME. Be sure to take your meds before opening this box of cards.
  • I would be very happy with the grades. I hope you are too.

Based on the other cards on your website, I think you will be satisfied. You might want to contact murcerfan about buying all of those Gary Sheffield PSA 9 rookies image.
  • Would you be happy? Hard to say as I don't know your standards for satisfaction.
If these were submitted for profit potential, I doubt you'll be too excited.
On some you'd be lucky to get your grading fees back.

Would I be happy? Happy would be a stretch. I might be satisfied if they were for my personal collection as I don't get too hung up on the grade on the slab.

  • It sounds brutal. I guess that the invoice of 53 1962 Topps baseball will have to pull me out.
Are you interested in seeing that invoice when it comes in?

I forgot that I had Sheffield rookies on my site. I have not looked at that page for a long time.
  • Marty - What were you expecting on the submission?

Without knowing that, there is no way we can know if you will be happy or disappointed. Ive been disappointed with 8's and thrilled with 6's depending on the card's condition.

  • Yup, This order was brutial. I picked up the cards today, and was not really looking forward to it as normal. I was not expecting 9's, but I was looking for a lot more 8's.
