You ought to send that to NGC from what I've seen. I wonder how they would grade it?

And I always wonder how far off 'as struck' these coins are.... I've never seen one with full hair detail and a 'good' eye before.

These James II are great coins in the better grades aren't they. Very valuable and always will be.

i am very very very jealous, i've been looking for one of those for 2 years and i've only ever come across one, and it wasn't good enough.

What a haul, do you fancy selling it? image
  • SylvestiusSylvestius Posts: 1,584
If only i could afford to buy it without having to lose the Gothic florin and the James II half guinea. image
  • Sylvestius, I'll be selling this about the same time you sell your William & Mary.image

Lloyd, I have a few coins I'm thinking of sending to ANACS maybe I'll include this to get their opinion.
I really shocked on the condition, it's not only well struck but also very free of haymarking. Not a
goodtime to make this purchase but I knew if I waited it would be gone.

I agree Python that it would have sold. I think it is in the EF45 range

I've got one of those, dated 1687, but it's been "LordMarcovanized" at some point in the past....image
