    Speaking of problems, I have seen some coins of that type exhibit some edge roughness(Not Rim dings), possiblely due to the high relief and therefore the higher striking pressures needed to produce the coin, is edge roughness normal for this series?

    That edge roughness is due to the edge lettering.

    I don't know about the color, but I'm amazed at how the detail clarity on the photo just kicks the scan's buttimage

    I own only a few silver crowns, four of them being the complete set of Bulgarian silver 5 leva. All coins exhibit edge "roughness" and at first sight the rim looks as if it is damaged. I guess it is a consequence of the facts that the coin is large and the rim is lettered.
