  • who graded it?
  • Not graded, it is raw. Thinking of buying it. I hate buying unseen over the net, but the scans look good for $450, may be too good to pass up. Torn here making a decision.

judging from the scans, looks to be a nice 64. Maybe PL but most likely not. I'd say the reverse is too weak for a PL at pcgs, may have the nuts at another tpgs though.

If it grades 64pl at pcgs, then $450 is a steal---expect to pay $650-$750 for a pcgs 64pl. If no PL, then I'd say you have a premium ms64 appropriately priced.
  • Now that I look a bit more closely, it appears there are many knicks in the rim from 12:00 to 4:00 o'clock on the reverse. There appears to be a ding at 8:00 o'oclock on the reverse. On the obverse, there is a funny looking pit on the right side of the nostril, and it looks as if someone may have added a pupil to liberty's eye at some point. That would mean bodybag more than likely since it has been altered. Too risky.

  • Michael,

It DOES look like someone added a pupil to eye - strange.

probably a Vam 1A, a somewhat less common vam, yet still common enough not to bring a premium. caused by gouges in the die---no BB for that.
  • At least a 65 with a shot at 66, hopefully it is all original.

It looks to be an attractive example, however, if you are not able to see the coin in person before buying, please look into the return policy first. Some images look too good to be true. Good luck with your decision.
