MURCERFAN.......A SMALL FAVOR PLEASE!!

Murcerfan,

You are undoubtedly "THE KING" of 1962 Topps Football here on the registry.
YOUR SET IS AWESOME!!

I am just a lowly peasant wanderer listed somewhere around six or seven far on down the dusty beaten road.
When I look up in your direction towards the top of the registry...... I get a kink
in my neck as the 180 degree angle is so severe!!

Would you do me a huge favor??
I have never seen and probably never will........."especially on my own merrits" what a "PSA Number One Set Certificate" actually looks like.
I know you kind of have a flair for posting pictures.
Would you please indulge me this one wish and show off a scan of your No. 1 1962 Topps Football PSA cert. for me??

You see I want to be able to enlarge it, write my name over yours and hang it proudly next to
my bogus MBA from Harvard that my brother sent me last week. ;

DARE TO DREAM!!

Thanks Murcer.

There's another way you can enjoy having the #1 finest set. This was
posted awhile ago by someone else (mrc32, if I'm not mistaken), so I
can't take credit for discovering this. Go to the page on the Registry
that displays your set. Within the address (URL) is the rank of
your set. Simply change it so it reads "rank=1", keep everything the
same, and hit reload/refresh. Voila! You now have the #1 current
    finest set! image

edited to add: would also like to see murcerfan's certificate...

They tell me I am no longer certifiable.

edited to add: I honestly don't recall getting any certificates, if I did, i fear they were shreaded along with all the rest of all my paper files during the last nieghborly IRS visit. image

    mojorob,

While I can appreciate your situation as I have never seen a #1 set sertificate either, I think that your request will give Murcerfan such a big head that he will be hard to live with on these boards from now on. image

Murcer, hard to believe that your PSA TOPPS 1962 FOOTBALL KING OF THE WORLD Trophy, is M.I.A.
Look for it under that second set of books you keep under the floor boards.
I know it is there somewhere, or is it a case like the SMR's that PSA supposedly sends out
that never seem to make my mailbox??

    Murcerfan,

I always suspected that you were affiliated with one of those highly secretive"covert" organizations. In your efforts to appaise a fellow board member, you have let the proverbial"cat out of the bag".I'll bet you even have a commie flag tacked up on the wall inside of your garage. image And you probably follow Brother John Virgin as well. image Been to the Antioch Baptist church lately ?????image

  • Mojo,
I am technically challenged by choice. Someone gave me a scanner a couple of years ago for this computer and it is still in the box. I would just have to move to many boxes of cards that crowd around the computer now to get it over this way and then there would be no room left on the table but someday......... I promise to get it hooked up.
Despite your monumental dis' on another thread (which was quite comical). I will be glad to send you a color copy of one of mine and even the one you want. Yes, the famed 1966 Topps FB. It is the most expensive $2 certificate I have ever received thanks to my friend Skinsfan. You have my email so Iif you send me your address, I will snail mail one your way. I hope to also post some other Fuzzdude sets in the next few days on 66 to put a few more rungs on the ladder for you to leap over.

    more fuzz 66 sets!!!!!
Kirk i will send you my 66 cert as well from the year prior to my man fuzz then you will for sure have the most costly certs in the world.
ALL FUZZ and i ask if you do pass us someday you name your set the FUZZSKINS image
  • Hey,
I'd settle for "FANDUDE" as well.
I am now tracking five 66 sets though four and five are both only about 50%. Number six is only about 30% so I have not bothered with that at the moment.
I have always wondered about people searching for commons and if I am screwing up the usage of the pop report. I noticed today that I have 8 or more graded copies of more than 10% of the cards in the set. So when sombody see 12 graded copies, I might have 8 or 9 of them and they are stuck search. What I b*****d I must be. Maybe I should just go ahead and put all eight sets together.
    Fuzz
PS. Art, when I upgrade sets number one and two you will be living every womans fantasy. You will be the middle in a Fuzz sandwich. How's the 67 set coming?

  • Griffens,
Way way to late on that BB thing.
I am mostly into 59 and later in BB so that based on your tag line, we should not be crossing paths very often. I have more fun in FB and have enjoyed it more over the last 15 years or so, so I suspect I will be terrorizing there for a while longer.
I only have one year that I have really ever started to register what I have and that was 66 Topps BB. I have not updated for nearly two years but when they posted I placed three sets in the top six and last I looked, they were all still top ten. I don't plan on doing much with BB this year so I suspect we will not run into each other.
I am just a simple part time collector and when I get back around to collecting again, it appears that Wofbear and Skinsfan are just aching for some competition. Wouldn't want to disappoint them.

Actually I think I prefer........ FUZZFAN.
Well you two guy's gotta be twins seperated at birth or something.
I mean what are the odds???
You couldn't get it this close if you plannned it. image

THE TOP TWO 1966 TOPPS FOOTBALL REGISTRY MAVENS:

    1. Art Miller Collection 2002 Winner Weighted GPA 8.13 100% Complete
    2. Fuzzdude 1 2003 Winner Weighted GPA 8.12 100% Complete

Art, I think if I were you I would probably be sleeping with one eye open.
Every time you check on the registry you must be thinking........is this the time
FUZZ WILL AWAKEN FROM HIS SLUMBER??

It seems to me that everybody that is anybody should certainly FEAR THE FUZZ, but probably no one
    more so than the Jelly_Man.

That is unless of course you have a couple extra PSA 9's stashed up your sleeve
    for just that right moment.
Like I'm sure that thought has never crossed your mind. image

Well certainly all commando tactics are encouraged and justified when combating the FUZZ FEAR FACTOR.

Although you have to give him credit....... he at least lets you know that the the onslaught is about to begin.
He's considerate enough to telegraph ahead that a BUTT WOPPIN is about to commence.
So ya gotta luv him for that!

Sorry about that typo in the name thing.
It was flashback to a junior high teacher's name.

  • Hey Mojo,
First, I put the check in the mail yesterday.
Secondly, Having competed against Skinsfan for a couple of years now. The amazing thing is the quantity of upgrades that he finds at the very last possible minute. Both years, they have been significantly more than I expected hin to be able to post.
The Jelly_man should be sleeping good now. He is in first and neither one of us really updates until the end of October. So he appears safe ............... for now.
I think he likes seeing his name in the SMR every other month.
On that 66 note, for the last couple of years, it has been one of the most hotly contested sets in each with the winner being decided by .01's each time. These two sets are so far above the others that I believe that if it were not for the other, either of these sets would have a shot at "set of the year" but with the two being essentially the same, I think we have killed each others chances.

    Fuzz,
So both of you guy's save up your 66 Topps Football PSA 9 accorns for the winter huh????
Well, this will be interesting this year for me to follow.
I was a total newbie to these boards last October, so this year I can enjoy the hype.
Do you guy's trash talk each other a little leading up to the drop dead date to
spice things up a little and keep the exceitment level elevated??.....or is it purely done in a civilazed decorum??
Fuzz I can see you talkin trash with the best of em.......but Art just might be TOO NICE a guy for that.
Maybe, I can lend Art a few good trash lines between now and then.
Perhaps a 1966 Topps Football betting line or pool is in order??
Shouldabeena10 could handle that, since he is up there on the 66 registry also.

  • MojoRob,
Yep, I can talk a pretty good game when it comes to it. But not with Skinsfan.
Art is way too much of a class act to talk any game.
We both store acorns but in my case, it is just laziness that keeps me from updating. I suspect that Skinsfan knows what I have or at least close to it, that could be updated.
There is no excitement and certainly no dislike that it would take to make any. Of all my sets and all my competition, if I have to lose anything, I would like Skinsfan to win. Expect a couple of late updates but that will be about it. No talk, no excitement, no confrontation. Nothing.
Now Wolfbear has made me eat dirt a few times on a couple of sets. But I like him too and don't mind if he wins either. Another real class act. But this Shouldcoulda guy has threatened to pass Fuzzdude #2 in 66 FB. We are gonna make him work a bit for that one I think. He will have to earn that spot ! (And yes I like Mike too but he and I are much more like to talk smack for third place ....... that could be a good time, even if he wins). Maybe we should switch to the battle for third --- kinda likea Bonds vs. Mays thing. Mike are you up for the fun ??
