CHANGE IN US MINT ORDERING POLICY - HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED IT?

I ordered three of the 2001 Kennedy bags on Monday via the US MINT website, credit card order. While checking the status on Tuesday and even as of today (Friday) my order still states, "There is a problem processing your order". The FAQ section of their website interprets this as, "Your order is being researched. We may be experiencing credit card processing delays or address confirmation problems. If your order is still in this status after 48 hours from now, please contact our Customer Service at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468)."
Since it had been in that status for over 48 hours, I called the MINT. They stated that they have changed their policy; in that, all credit card orders are held in check for approximately one week to ensure there has not been credit card fraud. The customer service rep I spoke with said they have had fraud problems.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay?
I ask because a couple of people have posted here that after having problems, their order was cancelled only to learn the item was now sold out. Although I don't expect a sellout issue with the 01 Kennedy's, I was curious if others here have experienced the same delay.
