Great strike for a 21 and with all the bag marks buffed out, it looks kinda neat. Any takers?

Could this guy be any more blatant? He had a really nice polished 1900 proof set last week.

    What a waste
  • I spent $100 bucks for a complete detail / hand wax of my vette this weekend and it didn't come out looking that shiny. I'm gonna have to e-mail him to find out what he uses.image

Sheesh!!! Everything I saw from that Guy was Buffed out with the same Power Buffer! and Many of the Buyers Loved the Coins. Just wait till they try to sell them to a Dealer or send them in to PCGS image

What was done to this sharply struck 1921 Peace Dollar is a sin against numismatics.

The polishing job on this otherwise nice coin make me..... image

Hey c'mon now -- don't you recognize a Brillant Proof 1921 Peace dollar when you see one. This guy has tremendously undervalued that coin.

The last one he sold like that went for $158.19.

And the buyer was not happy (after the fact):

Great company to deal with, nice coins ! Would definatly buy fron them again !

follow-up by shepp4784k: Item received was not "GEM Mintstate ( MS 65 Or Higher ) " as advertised

How can these people give positive feedback like this:

Quick shipping, but pictures were not very adequate. My fault for bidding. Buyer whit4500( 206) Mar-21-04 14:59 3902134587

I am not a coin collector or dealer. This is one of the 5 coins found in the attic of our 1832 home. They are "as found". They have only been washed with liquid soap and water. If you are unhappy with the coin, you may return it provided that you have not damaged or cleaned it.

Hey, i am not defending the guy, but at least he admits the coins have been "whipped" to bring out the shine.............doesnt make it right....but at the very least he admits it.

Discussing MS-67 prices within 5 miles of this coin is misleading and an attempt to deceive uneducated buyers.

    I don't give him a pass, he's an idiot.

The 1921 peace dollar is a shame but not as much as the 89-CC dollar or the 1890 quarter.

This has to be performance art. The guy is an artistic genius, creating a visual arts piece on the complex, arbitrary, and (somewhat) absurd sacrosanctity of the holiness of subjectivity, the science of numismatics, and the art of the biggest hobby in the world. He's done it in one neat package: one shine (Mint State) vs another shine (Altered Surfaces).

He's tearing down walls. He's forcing us to look at our own insanity: "OUTRAGEOUS! his shininess is the result of this piece of metal (polishing brush) being pushed against that piece of metal (silver)."

Unlike a true MS coin, where the shininess is due to this piece of metal (dies) being pushed against that piece of metal (silver).

And don't think that his choice of a PEACE dollar was arbitrary. No, no. In this time of war and upheaval? His actions underscore how our reverence for peace can simultaneously destroy it when we don't approach it with full understanding. Ahh, and the only high relief circulating issue in the series!?

Honestly. This piece of art should be on display at the ANA or PNG, or dare I say the Smithsonian next to the Brasher doubloon.

    Or else he's just insane.
