Anyone know a Value for this BRDSTRK PART BROCK error penny?

I just bought this coin and I don't usually collect errors like this so I have no Idea what it could really cost. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

I would have to say, what ever you paid for it, is what it's worth!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Well I bought it off ebay so, I didn't think that was Exactly what it would be worth to an error collector. I thought I just happened to see it at the right time as I bid last second.

It is worth more than the $15.00 and some change that you paid for it. image

Had I seen it, I would have bid on it, too. I have seen sellers sell similar errors for $35.00 or more at fixed price auctions. I have also seen similar errors sell for between $20.00 to $50.00 at true auctions, i.e. $0.01 open bid with no reserve.

    You got a good buy.

Errors can be sorta difficult to price, since some errors that are common for some years are virtually unknown in others. I do not believe that 1999 is a rare year for partial brockages and it is certainly not for broadstrikes.

A cent broadstrike should run a few dollars, generally under $10. A partial brockage on a cent is a less common error, and as a single error coin should run in the $20-40 range (depending on the seller). The combined error may or may not bring more than the partial brockage alone.

So, if you paid less than $40, you did okay.

I did not check your feedback. I did a search under recently bid on auctions and found it that way.
