US Mint release dates - Why I do not believe them

I just got through reading the March 29th 2004 Coin World. Interesting they have an article about when the US Mint will release coins for this year.

Here they are:
March 15th: American Silver Eagle Proof
March 17th: Mint State Sacagawea Dollars
March 24th: 2004 Clad Proof Set
March 29th: 2004 Florida Mint State Quarters
April 5th: 2004 Silver Proof set
April 8th: American Gold Eagle Proof
May 3rd: 2004 Texas Mint State Quarters

Why do I not believe the US Mint? Surely, someone there can come up with a correct release date and spread them more over the year? Frustrated....

I don't see the PROOF SAE nor the 04 Sac dollar on the Mint website.

So you may be on to something.

I seem to remember the silver proof sets being released in the July/August timeframe.

Nonsense. They are not going to hit the folks with subscriptions so hard and fast. By drawing it out, they maintain happy subscribers.

If the mint had any marketing sense all of the year's items would be available on Jan.2. These items are heavily used as gifts and need to be available early in the year. The earlier dates may be an attempt by the mint to become more marketing savvy.
