Welcome to the world of moderns, the pops go up and prices go down!

What years? Some of the earlier dates in MS66, (1964 through 1970-D), have actually been pretty strong lately. Not as strong as they were a couple years ago, but a definite uptick in realized prices compared to a few months ago.

What's the story on the 70-D? I saw a NGC MS65 go for $71 plus shipping, is the price going up for these?

Hi Russ, I don't have very many (1964P, 1981P, 1984P,1986D, and 1988D), but at one time was thinking of buying more. Now I am thinking of just putting them on eBay at starting bid of $.99. I think they will just keep going down in price, what do you think?

IMHO, MS Kennedys have been trending upward for a while now, especially MS67 and MS68 prices.

MS66 coins are "hit and miss" in terms of prices of late. Of course, for many dates, MS66 coins are "2 grade under pop top", or at least one grade. The demand is softer right now for lower grade Kennedy coins I believe.

IMHO, this is another strong series with huge things to come in the future, especially if the #1 set sells off in the next 2 years. If so, what I predict we will see is the first "six figure" MS Kennedy collection to cross the block (and a wonderful return for that collector) and it would likely be a huge boost for the series (as I suspect most folks presently do not believe an MS Kennedy set would sell for "six figures", but, I believe it would) image

Also, I believe that without a public sale of the #1 collection, the potential rise in popularity of the series could take a bit longer, as few great coins come on the market each year.

That is one that has seen some real life come back over the last few months. An MS66 sold recently for about $200. The 1969-D in MS66 has brought over $150 in the last two sales. The 1965 in MS66 had dipped below $100, and is now up around $140 or so. The last 1966 in MS66 to sell brought about $175.

    moosesr,

Until recently, the 1964 in MS66 was bringing about $25, maybe $30 on a good day. I've seen a couple hammer down in the $50 range over the last month, though. Both were very nice examples. I don't know about the later years you have listed, as I haven't been paying attention to them.

There is a reason why economy is now 90 days. Expect further decreases as the pops continue to rise.

  • This series go in trends on E-bay ( I have it all most figured out ) last month I saw a few new buyers bidding on allot of the 66's and now there are allot more put up for Auction so that drove the prices down, in time the prices will go back up some. I have 25 more to go so I sure hope this series wait's to get hot till after I get themimage
