I thought the color might be a problem but it was bagged for cleaning? Opinions?

That's the look of a coin that was cleaned and is retoning.
Joe.
A comparison can sorta be made by sanding a piece of wood to VERY smooth finish.
Then ....rub....(or burnish) a portion of the wood with another piece of SMOOTH wood. Usually the comparison of the two surfaces approximates the look of a cleaned coin. But in wood not metal. But it is close.
Thank you "member persons" very much.
I think it's sinking in now. I didn't put the two together, the cleaning and the color until you mentioned it. I thought it would be one or the other. There is wealth of knowledge on these boards!
Has anyone here ever tried NCS for older coppers?
