A blatant theft on my part of Coinguy1's always interesting comparison posts. I have two 1955/1955's sitting here and thought it would be interesting. I will disclose later if these are certified and by whom IF they are. Give your opinions on grade, etc...
#1 is an ANACS MS63RB holder. I'm not sure if there's enough Red but comparing it so some RB PCGS cents I have and have seen there seems to be.
#2 NCS AU details "Improperly Cleaned". I could not capture this coin worth a darn. It looks almost identical in hand as far as color as the ANACS coin. The only thing that is different is there is just a bit of rub/wear 55/58? and the coin has a bit too much luster to it. I don't see hairlines.

I'm going to try and get a better pic of #2.
#2 maybe a bad pic but it looks stepped-on....or `washed`....what can i say.
cleaned and recolored.
<< <i>#2 looks like an orange light was used and a more neutral or blue light on the first one. >>
Refresh and view them again Cam. I updated the second pic with a new pic taken in natural sunlight just like the first.
maybe the affect hasnt happen on this end yet.....
the lighting looks like night and day.....
The first thing I think about when I see scarce, higher value, commonly counterfeited items such as this is - are they genuine? These look to be the real thing, though I would NEVER buy an uncertified example unless I had a FULL return privilege and was CERTAIN I would be able to distinguish a bogus one from one made by the U.S. Mint.
Next, I am immediately drawn to the slight amount of faded mint-red color remaining on the first coin - I like that look, as it gives the coin more character and a nicer looking appearance, in my opinion, at least.
Additionally, the second coin appears to have more abrasions/marks than the first, is not as crisp looking, as high grade or as attractive.
Right or wrong, give me #1 please.
i see both as being taken under the same conditions....
now the orginator of this thread, he has been in the sun to long!

<< <i> my monitor is old too, but i see coin 1 on a `blue` card,and #2 on a pink card. >>
If that's what you see, you had better stop everything and go get a new monitor!

"Instant fix" doesn't quite work. Playing with the colors a bit got the coin to look really brown,
still not close to the color of the first coin.
As a Lincoln man I pick #1.The color is much nicer.I have seen the #2 coin in person.LOL

I am cheating a little, becuase I know from our discussion, but anyway, If I were just viewing for the first time,
I choose coin #1. It has original luster and better striking definition, and I like the red peeking around the devices, gives a natural brownish red/brown look.
Coin # 2 is lightly circualted, but even before the wear, the coin is not struck up quite as well. And a few more marks. But more importantly, the coin has a lifeless drab to it from dipping/retoning etc.

The first coin is a nice coin. A nice MS-62 RB or MS-63BN. Market grading that way.
