Local Forum Members City, State & Area Listing -- New Forum Category ??

StuartStuart Posts: 9,761 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have another suggestion for my fellow forum members to consider. I'd liek to recommend that we add a category to the forum which allows forum members to (at their own discretion) add their names to a List of Forum Members sorted by City, State and/or Area to make it easier for us to meet one another and communicate to coordinate with each other prior to Coin Shows, and Coin Club Meetings.

As a result of my Houston Forum Swap Meet thread, I have received responses from other forum members who I did not realize live in the Houston area. It became apparent to me that it would be quite useful to know who else lives nearby for meetings, swaps and social events -- if they wish to provide that information on a voluntary basis.

What are your thoughts?? Thanks!

Stuart

    Good idea!!
  • I like the idea, I live in the Houston area but will be in Iowa for the next few months and would like to meet board members from that area also. image

  • Good idea and we would just need to control how much data is absorbed in the system

I think that is a great idea. Being a newbie I wondered if there were any forum members that attend the local monthly coin show.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

  • sounds good - who is the guy that did the US map awhile back - that was kewl! --- Tyler, TX area.
  • Just one thought. What about security concerns. This is an open forum and while some of you know what city I live in, I don't think I would like that posted openly even though I would still be hard to track down.

Conder: If we added a security feature making the suggested Local Forum Members City, State & Area Listing -- New Forum Category a member/subscriber only accessible feature, would that address the security concerns that you mentioned in your previous post??

If not, do you have any other suggestions ?? Since it would be voluntary, members of course would have the option of posting their city, state & area locations, or not doing so -- whichever they prefer...

Any other thoughts from other forum members?? image
