Though not as colorfull, it still is unique.
Looking for PCGS AU58 Washington's, 32-63.
I think the graders put it in some type of press until it fits and then include a pic of what it did look like.
I could be wrong though....

That is a very cool looking coin. I'm still a little perplexed on exactly how those are made. The die cap looks it was a couple of cents. Joined?Combined?
That's 1 L of a die cap!!!
Man that's great!
It is it yours?
Man that's a great coin.
DAMN!!!
<< <i>How in Thee H E double toothpick was that accomplished? >>
Razorface.....The coin or my thumbnail?
It is a bonded (two coins) die cap. The 1st cent was stuck to the end of the die while the die was striking coins. This caused the 1st cent to form around the end of the die causing the tube shape. The 1st coin bonded to the 2nd coin when the die struck the 2nd coin.
Dog...I am trying to work out a deal for this coin. Do you have any idea of fair market value? I have never seen a die cap as dramatic as this one.
Sequitur......You are one sick little monkey.
