Ebay is offering a new service to ship USPS and UPS automatically

Looks like a great new feature to be able to print shipping labels directly from the sellers screen for USPS and UPS shipping. I hope it will do everything is says it will. Looks like you will be able to click a few buttons and have the package label printed from your printer, pay through Paypal for the shipping, and request a carrier pick up your package. They are only offering Priority and Express mail right now but will be adding First Class and parcel post as well. I hope this is the beginning of the end of going to the post office for me.

Please Ebay sellers go through the info adn tell me what you think.

Yeah, the USPS offers the same thing. Print on plain paper or crack and peel labels, and pay with a credit card. Link It'll be interesting to me when I can use it 1st class with insurance.

    Sounds like a good idea.

exactly what I was thinking. The Ebay route pre fills out the shipping label as well.

I use Fedex for my other business and ship 20 or so packages a day and it is VERY convenient to never have to go to them as they come to my office every day.

Looks like the post office will be picking up packages at my office everyday as well. image

I couldn't tell if you could insure first class mail, but from what you are saying it's only Priority Mail.

If I could insure 1st class without standing in line I'd be in heavenimage

So if they pick up your package... this means no more charging for wear and tear on your tires and your time at the PO. Hence, we should see a decrease in shipping fee's right?

If I can send 1st class insured without waiting at the PO, I'll lower my SHI for the nice people on eBay

  • I guess I will have to lower my $1.50 shipping charges, what a bummer imageimage
  • I wouldn't have to go to the PO now if I could do insurance from the office. I don't think they want the liability for the package from my office to the mailman or something. I only have to go there when I have packages to insure. I suspsect this new service won't allow us to send insured mail for a long, long time.

No insurance. You still have to go to the Post Office to get it.

Label has UPS what about USPS?

Product must be something different than what is at the USPS Website.

<< <i>Q. Why can't I add Insurance to my Priority Mail online label?
    A. Only Confirmation Services are available online at this time. Unlike Insurance, they can be offered at a reduced fee because an electronic record is generated each time a label is created. If you require Insurance for your item, you can purchase it separately at the retail counter. >>

Line? What line? There's rarely a line at the post office when I get there. You people just need to get out of bed earlier. image
