A cherry Pick or a great find today

Well After some prep I Finally got out my package to the winner of the give away I held last month. The giveaway was a combined coin, mineral, fossil giveaway. It took me about a month to finish the work on a trilobite from morocco but I finally got it done and its finally sent out. Well I paid for the postage with a 20$ and I got back 11 and change. being a Lincoln collector anytime I get them they go into my save pocket. Boy for some reason it kept burinin a hole in my leg heheh. When I checked it out it looked to be a double die. YES when I got home I found it to be a matching one to the 1995 DD I got last year FS#1c-040 not worth a whole lot but that now makes the second 1995DD I have picked or cherried out of circ. This coin would probally grade hugh AU low unc.

Now who ever says the post office charges to much for postage knows why they keep giveing out DD coins image

    that's pretty cool.

is that the MAIN DDO for '95?
  • I've been lucky with cherrypicking, thus the name I suppose. Greatest find was a 1922 No D Die Pair 2. Nice find! It's awesome to find anything in circulation that is out of the norm, regardless of price.
  • YES the 1995 is the cent that got all the attention when it got out that there were DD in the mintages that year. I think its pretty amazing that in 2 consecetive years I have snatched 2 out of circ. But still I would much rather have the 1955DD cent then my 1995's.

  • It's funny people were offering cars for those 1955 DDO's when they first came out and now they can be had for around $60-$70 in 67 RD.
  • Great eye and Good going!!

Wow. So these DO get cherried from circulation sometimes.
I thought they were all mostly corralled by dealers and collectors
and the only way to get one would be to go find a dealer that
was lucky enough to get some to squirrel away.

Now finding a D mint mark `95 DD WOULD be a hoot.
That one is alittle rarer I think.

I,ll keep looking for that one too, among the other sought-after error / varieties that are out there.

    I have 11 of these.

1 was won in a contest (free).
2 were purchased (at around $10 each).
4 were found in two BU rolls (for around 2 cents each).
4 were found in change (at face value).

They used to be rather common in change but as they get older and people pluck them out, they are getting to be less common. Almost to the point that when someone finds one in change now it's a bit suprising. Good going Byron!
