I don't know what "Faleristic" means, but I do post pics of stuff I acquire. A lot depends on the quality and size of the auction pics. That's why I'm (still only) planning to get a digital camera. I want to be free to do my own.
I will be very glad (as other gus and gals, I think) when you'll get your camera, Mark! I relize you really have to show many cool items.
About that word "Faleristic/a" originally the word not Russian and looks like it has some Greece or Latin source and means exactly the same about badges, orders and similair stuff, what the word "numismatics" means foe coins. Here some link: Faleristika
Really not sure that it is the correct term in English ... Edited to add: O'k here some lingvistic tips: Greece: "Ta Falara" In German: "Die Phaleren"
I couldn't find the word in any English dictionary (or Phaleren in any German dictionary) in my library or online. Fortunately, Google came to the rescue and indeed it appears that "faleristic" is indeed the English word -- but I could find it only on websites not hosted by military medal collectors. I suspect it may cover only military decorations and service medals (of which I have some), but perhaps not art medals ... I'm not sure.
O'k Mark, I'll try my dictionaries Just in Russian that term covers all types of "badges" and "orders", Military , Labour or others. May be at English it is only Military pieces. As for medals it is sure the topic of numismatics (as well as coins), excluding Service ones.
Excuse me Boz, for hijacking of that thread! :confused

A gold mohur would be a nice addition to this set.A little expensive though, and quite scarce in high grade.
