1965 Baseball Registry News?

Did #2-Bobs65 (strapper) retire his set? It's gone from the current finest list and everyone below him moved up a notch. He and Duke were running neck and neck for a long time.

That's an active year and there have been several retirements over the past couple of years. Wonder if he's keeping it or will we see some of those cards up for sale?

Robert is selling his set. Thank you Robert for selling me most of the psa 8s I needed for completion. Puts me to 4 cards remaining(he had them in 9). Expect to see a sharp jump in the Duke of Mint's set rating.

This is one of a few top sets that is being broken up and sold recently. I appreciate the sellers contacting me and waiting to go the ebay route.

    Thanks again Bob,

    Dave,

Darn, you know what I am going to do even before I decide to do it--talk about being plugged in.

What do you here on that 62FB set?

    oh sure,

my rumors only get 3 minutes of life image
  • I just checked "my sources" and they tell me that the set was purchased by a big time collector in the Chicago area who plans to cut up each card one day at a time starting on the anniversary of Harry's death until the Cubs win the World Series!

I think that they better buy another 65 set or have Dusty Baker hire Joe Torre as a bench coach for some late game help.

I wonder if there is any truth to that????????????

I have my #5 set for sale.......it's short 3 cards now, 6 are still raw. I think the GPA is like 7.20... just shy of your's.
I'm hoping to get 7k or therabouts.
looks like i dragged my feet too long to get it in Mastro's.
Not sure what PT is up too, he sort of went under the radar for a while, to be expected i suppose.
I told him to put that set in Mastro's, but nobody over there mentioned it.

    Yeah,
    I really don't understand that.
he could have sold it out in 4 big pieces to registry guys and wholesaled the 7's to somebody like Jay W. or Vic S.
I have WAY too many 7's in the set I want to move to do that....
.....Not to say that 7's aren't collectible on that set; especially the old Reza invoices.
  • Wow!
I guess that moves me up one notch on the registry! I wonder if anyone will ever beat Duke's weighted GPA (especially if he did indeed buy the 9's that he needed from Strapper).

    Insane.
I just want to finish the sucker.
