  • good to hear

seems like when I post results like this I get blamed for having maxed out coins in my slabs. I guess there is a double standard for dealers and collectors.

I am not trying to rag on you Jamercon, just trying to make a point.

If it makes you feel any better this coin is maxed out.

  • you missed my point above. I don't care if a coin is maxed out in a holder but OTHER people do.
  • JamericonJamericon Posts: 438 ✭✭✭
Well then those OTHER people can stop whining about the fact that they cannot purchase upgradeable coins for cheap prices. Like you, if I see a coin that can get the next grade then I wil submit it. In fact, I have two more of my coins sitting at PCGS that I am waiting on grades for.

The purpose of grading a coin is to have it correctly graded. If a coin comes back the same grade 10x, yes it is maxed out, but then is it not correctly graded?

That is as it should be. Collectors good, dealers evil. You new?

Jason, don't let those "OTHER" people bother you. THEY are the real immature, jealous whiners. image

    JB,

I know you as a high quality dealer. As a collector, I expect you to do the due diligence and max out a coin for me. I like knowing that coin is all there in representation to the grade. It eliminates doubt.

Sometimes, it is fun to be challenged and try to stalk out the coins that are possible upgrades. Then there are times, when I want a good solid coin for the money without breaking out a loop and tearing the coin down looking for flaws.

    1. Think the guy you bought it from is happy?
    2. Think the guy you will sell it to will be happy?
    3. Why wasn't it in the "correct" holder to begin with?

    food for thought.image

Why not? He got paid. Besides, if he couldn't recognize an undergraded coin that's his fault, not Jamericon's.

<< <i>2. Think the guy you will sell it to will be happy? >>

Why wouldn't he be? The coin is what it is. Why would he do a deal on a coin with which he would not be happy?

<< <i>3. Why wasn't it in the "correct" holder to begin with? >>

    See last sentence of #1.

To continue where Russ left off-

#1. What Russ said. Besides, this guy was a local dealer who who made $15 on this coin when I bought it. I get the impression that he does not play the crackout game. He deals more in moderns anyway.

#2. Aside from that fact that the coin is what it is, they would never know.

#3. It was. But just a grade lower.
