A little Swiss, a big Venezuela

I worked a long time to get the color on the Swiss Franc right and still didn't capture the blaze of color on the obverse that shows under a strong light; the reverse I am pleased with-really one of the most colorful coins I've seen.

The Venezuelan piece is a slightly red dark gold which I think is pretty accurate.

Both pieces are very appealing to the eye but I prefer the Venezuelan with the classic profile.

The colours on that Swiss coins are fantastic. I always have wondered, well not always, how those blues get into the coin.

I note that the Venezuelan obverse is engraved by Barre. Was this coin struck in Paris, or was it simply a commission for the Venezuelan government?

I'm not positive, but I believe it was commissioned. Art Nouveau was very popular in Latin America and the French were the leaders in it.
