I just had to let everyone know that coincracker's great giveaway gift arrived in today's mail - - Charlton's 1st Edition "Standard Catalogue of Canadian Colonial Tokens" and 2 coins! They are great, and very appreciated!!

I'd like to share with everyone what I have been able to identify with the catalogue's help as being in my colection so far.

Of course, it's next to impossible for me to tell the difference between many of the listed variations for the first coin, but, to the best of my knowledge, including the 2 coins Lyle sent me, my token collectiion now includes:

LOWER CANADA TOKENS:

(1) LC-5A-3: "Banque Du Peuple Montreal Un Sou - - Agriculture & Commerce Bas - Canada" (1838)

(1) LC-8A-2 ("lower 'v' "): "Bank Token Half Penny - - Province du Bas Canada - - Un Sou"
("City Bank" on ribbon) (1837)

(1) LC-8B-1 ("in-line 'v' "): "Bank Token Half Penny - - Province du Bas Canada - - Un Sou"

Mine came in the mail today as well-- Very Cool coppery ships!! Three different Great Britain half-pennies, a Jersey one-twelfth of a shilling, a UAE 10 fils (I was there about 10 years ago, and didn't get any coins--just rugs-- so this is extra nice for me), a Mexico 20 centavos and a Sierra Leone one cent. What a nice gift!! Thank you for your generosity!!
