been looking of an original 89-CC with decent rims and nice dark patina for a while now. Wish I had bought 8 months ago when the search began (price increases have been just sick!), but didnt see anything I liked. Finally picked one up on Friday . I'd appreciate any opinions, including grade...

See ya on the other side, Dudes.
Photoshop-auto levels.
I would rate it a Fine as well.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
The rest of the coin does look like a low grade FINE though.
good looking coin. I wouldnt mind havin it in my (meager) collection.
Do you have the coin? Any scratches? If not, then looks like a keeper to me.
I grade the coin a solid F-12 at the major services(PCGS,NGC), possibly F-15, but just a bit shy IMO.
Edited to add: << Looks like it may have been washed a long time ago, but still is a nice coin >> I take back what I said. It may indeed have had a very old cleaning, since it is a bit on the dark side, but it is still very nice.
Check out a Vanguard Roth IRA.

Didn’t realize grades were in till Lablover chimed in w/ his (I usually ck 3X daily, today only once—so a nice surprise). In case anyone was curious, this 89-cc came back graded F-15, which is what I guessed on DHeath’s contest, so no surprise there. I was praying I’d owe paigowjohnny that buck though…….Altogether, not bad for $600.
